Quick and Easy Breakfast Ideas That You Will Love!

I seriously love breakfast. It is the meal that I value most in a day because it contributes to starting my day on a positive note. As usual, time is very limited in the morning. So, I really love quick and easy breakfast ideas because it means that I can still enjoy my breakfast without getting late. This post gives you easy breakfast ideas that will help you say no to skipping breakfast.

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day and I definitely have a hearty breakfast before I do anything.

The beauty about these ideas is that you do not even need to know how to cook. Some of them can be prepared the night before. This will be the beginning of not missing breakfast because you do not have enough time to make breakfast.

Here are 7 very quick and easy breakfast ideas:

1. Arrowroots or Sweet Potatoes

For those concerned with calories, 100 grams of arrowroots are estimated to have about 65 calories while for 100 grams of sweet potatoes are 86 calories. My favorite between them is arrowroot. Both of them are energy giving foods; and what a better way to start your day than with loads of energy?

I love arrow roots because I can prepare them the previous night. All I need is to boil them for about one hour and store them in the fridge ready for the next day breakfast. It can be taken with a glass of fresh juice, a cup of tea or coffee. Once prepared at night, you do not take much time in the morning getting breakfast ready. 

2. Cereals (Weetabix)

Cereals are very many but my favorite remains Weetabix. It is high in fiber, has iron and various vitamins. When I started taking Weetabix, I was not a huge fan but with time I have become used to it. All it takes is a glass of hot milk and you have your breakfast ready.

I never liked cereals because I do not like milk. What I used to do is replace milk with tea. Though these days, I take it with milk. You can enjoy your Weetabix with a fruit.

3. Oatmeal

I started taking oats a few weeks ago and getting used to the taste can be difficult. I have been discovering a few ways to make the meal sweeter while keeping it healthy. Oats take about 3 to 5 minutes to prepare. All you need is milk and honey if you wish.

I take oats with banana and strawberries (they add more flavor). You could also add more berries to make it sweeter. Whenever I have time, I make oatmeal pancakes. I also have ground oatmeal flour for porridge. Porridge can be made the previous night.

4. Eggs

Who does not love eggs? Not me! Eggs can be cooked in so many ways. Whenever I am in a hurry, I go for fried eggs. It takes at most, 5 minutes. You can eat it with wholemeal bread and a cup of tea. When making eggs it takes me about 10 to 15 minutes to make and have breakfast. I like eggs for breakfast because they are very healthy.

I have to have breakfast, and breakfast has to be eggs!

Boiled eggs are also good but may take a little more time because it takes about 20 minutes to have well done boiled eggs. Can you prepare them the previous night? I have never tried it so I cannot comment on it. Nevertheless, you could have the eggs boil as you prepare for work.

5. Wholemeal Bread

I specify wholemeal because it is a healthier option. If you have a toaster, you may toast your bread. You could also use a pan to toast the bread which gives it more taste (at least for me). Eating it plain is also okay. This does not even take time to make and it can be taken with a glass of juice, a cup of tea or coffee.

There is also a lot you can do with bread but since we are keeping it simple, let us leave it at that.

6. Fruits & Yogurt

Depending on the fruits you like, you can take them for breakfast. The easiest fruits to prepare are bananas, oranges, kiwi (optional as it is pricey), canned pineapples, apples, and berries. These can make a simple fruit salad that will take you only 5 minutes to prepare. I normally add natural yogurt.

The fruits can also be taken individually. Ensure you have fruits and each day as you leave, grab an apple, banana and orange/tangerine.

7. Smoothies

These can be prepared the previous night and blend the fruits in the morning or complete making the smoothie at night and take it chilled in the morning. My favorite smoothie is the strawberry smoothie. There are varying ways of making the smoothie.

There’s nothing like starting the day with a healthy, filling breakfast smoothie.

I really like smoothies, they are my favorite. For the last one month, I have been obsessed. I love the energy they give me. Ingredients that never lack in my smoothies are chia seeds, soy milk, honey, bananas, and natural yogurt.

This easy breakfast idea saves so much time because you can store the smoothie in half-liter bottles and grab one bottle as you leave the house. Drink it on the way. All you need is a blender.
